How It All Began
The Mary Kemp Foundation was named in honor of Mary Kemp, a retired New York City public school teacher who taught for over 38 years. Her son, Hussain Abdullah, also a retired New York City public school teacher, wanted to gift the people of Killeen, Texas with a community center where they can continue their education, as well as provide a space for community events including STEM, finance, mental health and other educational programs.
As of Today
The Mary Kemp Foundation has granted over $25,000 to schools, sports programs, parents, teachers and college students, with a focus on education as a core of each mission we support. As our reach grows we will continue to impact other individuals, families and foundations across the globe.
