Our Story

How It All Began

The Mary Kemp Foundation was named in honor of Mary Kemp, a retired New York City public school teacher who taught for over 38 years.  Her son, Hussain Abdullah, also a retired New York City public school teacher, wanted to gift the people of Killeen, Texas with a community center where they can continue their education, as well as provide a space for community events including STEM, finance, mental health and other educational programs.
