How It All Began
The Mary Kemp Foundation was named in honor of Mary Kemp, a retired New York City public school teacher who taught for over 38 years. Her son, Hussain Abdullah, also a retired New York City public school teacher, wanted to gift the people of Killeen, Texas with a community center where they can continue their education, as well as provide a space for community events including STEM, finance, mental health and other educational programs.
As of Today
The Mary Kemp Foundation has donated funds to sports programs based in the Killeen, Texas area centered on education as a core of each mission we support. As our reach grows we will impact other individuals, families and foundations across the country and soon abroad.
